Your chassis code is the quickest way to pick the right manual. On a Mercedes-Benz VIN, the 4th to 6th characters give the model series: for example, a VIN beginning WDB230… is an R230 SL, and WDD172… is an R172 SLK or SLC.

The R172 was sold as the SLK until 2016 and renamed SLC from then on. Our SLK manuals cover the R172 from 2011 to 2016 and our SLC manuals cover 2015 to 2020.
